Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole shares Canada’s Recovery Plan with British Columbians

Ottawa, ON – Today, the Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives, met with more than 27,000 British Columbians from Vancouver Island and the B.C. Interior to share Canada’s Recovery Plan, his detailed plan to get the economy back on track and secure the future.

O’Toole discussed details of the Conservative plan in a telephone town hall with B.C. residents.

A total of 27,159 people joined the Conservative Leader’s town hall meeting.

“I was thrilled to speak with British Columbians and share details of Canada’s Recovery Plan, which will create jobs and get people back to work,” O’Toole said. “We will get the economy firing on all cylinders in B.C. and across Canada. We will ensure that no Canadian is left behind.”

Through Canada’s Recovery Plan, a Conservative government will:

  • Secure Jobs by recovering the one million jobs lost during the pandemic
  • Secure Accountability by enacting new anti-corruption laws
  • Secure Mental Health through the Mental Health Action Plan
  • Secure the Country by securing Canadian-made medical supplies
  • Secure our Economy by balancing the budget over the next decade

Canada’s Conservatives have a detailed plan to secure the economy and support small businesses. As part of the recovery plan, a Conservative government will introduce a new hiring incentive to get Canadians back to work. The Canada Job Surge Plan will pay at least 25 per cent of the salary of net new hires for six months after the federal wage subsidy.

“This election is about who British Columbians trust to secure their economic future, and secure the future for all Canadians,” O’Toole concluded. “Canada’s Conservatives are ready to deliver for the people of B.C. and all Canadians from coast to coast to coast.”
